Let’s do another pattern phrases together. Yay. 新たなパターンフレーズをやりましょう。イエイ！

In this one we’re going to over the phrase “make sure”. ここでは”make sure”を使ったフレーズを見ていきます。

So the definition of “make sure” is make sureの意味は

And how we make the sentence is you go センテンスをどう作るかというと

and you might wonder “excuse me there’s that” そして、みなさん「すみませ〜ん、thatがありますけど」っと思うかもしれません。

When do I use this, right? これはいつ使うの？っと思いますよね。

So the sentence itself still makes sense even without that センテンス自体はたとえthatがなくても意味をなします。

When I say these phrases 私がこのフレーズを使う時は

sometimes I do put in that um sometimes I don’t thatをつけるときもありますし、つけないときもあります。

I just go with by my feelings. フィーリングによって変えています。

So same for you too. なのでみなさんも同じ感じで。

Just go with your feeling. フィーリングで行きましょう。

Just go with your guts. そのとき感じるまま。

You can choose to put in that or not That を入れるか、入れないかは選びましょう。

however you’re feeling at that moment. その時、どう感じるかで。

And also there’s another expression “make sure to” それから別の表現”make sure to”もありますので

so let’s go over a few of those phrases too. これらのフレーズも見ていきましょう。

But yeah. Anyways let’s get started. ですが、ともかく始めましょう。

Double check. もう一度確認して。

Do you have everything? 全部持った？

Alright, then you’re good to go. See ya. そしたら行っていいよ。またね。

Remember what happened last time when you didn’t read the instructions? 前に説明書読まなかったときに何が起こったか覚えてる？

You broke that cabinet あの棚、壊しちゃったでしょ。

so you better read the instructions this time please. だから今回は説明書読んでね。

Can you go check one more time? もう一度だけ確認してきてくれる？

Just in case. 念のため。

Is it good. 大丈夫？

¥Alright, okay. Good. オーケー。良かった。

¥Alright now I feel safe. Let’s go. 安心した。行こうか。

Okay. And after you get home make sure you give me a ring 家についたら、ちゃんと電話してね。

so I’ll know that you got home safe. そしたら無事に家についたって分かるから。

Okay? いい？

It said it’s going to be hot outside again today 今日も外は暑くなるって言ってたから

so make sure you get enough water. ちゃんと水分補給するようにしてね。

So you won’t get dehydrated. そうすれば脱水症状にならないから。

Good? Okay? Promise. いい？オーケー？約束ね。

Okay? いい？

Because if you’re late だってもし遅れたら

you’re gonna be in super big trouble ものすごい怒られたくないでしょ。

and you don’t even wanna know what’s gonna happen to you. そのあと、どうなるか知らないからね。

Oh, no. やばいよぉ。

So you better get there five minutes early. だから5分前には着いてないとね

Got that? わかった？

You don’t want to get the hangover next day. 次の日、二日酔いになったらいやだよ。

Because we’re going out. だって出かけるんだからね。

Okay? 大丈夫？

Maybe this phrase will be helpful for housewives um telling to their husband. このフレーズは、奥様が旦那さんに言うのにいいかもしれません（笑）

I’m serious. 本当に。

You don’t even know like how much I hated it 私がどれだけ不快だったか。

Like don’t let it happen again. Okay? 本当にもうないようにしてね、わかった？

Lesson learned. 学習になったでしょ。

Please. Okay? お願いだから、ね？

Don’t mess it up. 絶対失敗しないで。

Just please don’t mess it up. 本当に、失敗しないで。

I don’t know. It might get cold just in case to be safe 分かんないけど。寒くなるかもしれないから、念のため。

you should bring some warm clothes. Okay? 温かい洋服持って行って、わかった？

Alright so now let’s go over a few phrases giving a little twist to this pattern phrase. では、ここから応用を加えたフレーズを見ていきましょう。

I don’t think I have too much work today so 今日はそんなにたくさん仕事ないと思うから

should be fine. 大丈夫なはず。

I think I can get back home early. 早く家に帰れると思うよ。

I’m sincerely sorry. 心からお詫び申し上げます。

I know apologies doesn’t fix anything but 謝ってももとに戻るわけではないですが、でも

I really want to apologize to you so 本当にお詫びしたいので、

I’m really sorry. 本当にごめんなさい。

If you do you, don’t even know what I’m gonna do to you. もし、失望させてしまったら、私あなたに何をするか分からないよ。

So you better take good care of her, please. だから、ちゃんと彼女の事見てあげてね、お願い。

Okay. From here let’s go over phrases using “make sure to”. オーケー、ここからは”make sure to”を使ったフレーズを見ていきましょう。

You don’t want to repeat so make sure to check it. また繰り返しやるのいやでしょ、だからちゃんとチェックしてね。

Because you forget to make an appointment every time and だっていつも予約するの忘れちゃうから

If you think you’re gonna forget, keep a post-it or something. もし忘れるかもって思うんだったら、ポストイットか何かにメモして。

We don’t want to waste the electricity bill so please. 電気代無駄にしたくないから、お願いね。

I know you feel uncomfortable attending to the meetings but 会議に出席するのは、好きじゃない事わかっているけど、

this one you must so please. Okay? これは、絶対に行ってください、いいですか？
